Movie night

I'd like to turn our Friday night into Pizza and Movie night for the cold weather months. This being the first official Friday of Fall, it seems like a good night to start! Picnics on the living room floor will be allowed.

I'm looking for movie recommendations. I'm thinking we'll do 2 movies: 1 child friendly and 1 for us after she hits the hay. That may be ambitious and we may only get in 1, but that's ok.

We don't watch movies all that much, so here's a list of the most recent we've seen (so don't recommend them! :-P):

Into the Wild - I can't tell you how much this movie depressed me
Little Miss Sunshine - LOVE
The Harry Potter movies - books are still better
The Incredibles - good, but a bit violent for young kiddos, in my opinion
Finding Nemo - only movie Monkey has ever seen!

Small, sad list, isn't it?

Help us increase our movie knowledge!

PS - I hate blood and gore. My husband is kind enough to avoid those for me when picking up a video. :-)

I don't watch many movies myself. It's hard to find movies for little ones too!!!

For Monkey I'd recommend: Toy story 1 and 2 (liked 2 better actually, the neighbor is a little violent to the toys in the 1st one)

For you??? Hummm... I just don't watch enough!! I don't really know a thing about new movies!! My sister told me "knocked up" was better than we thought it was going to be. I loved Walk the line (about Johnny cash) and Enchanted (granted it's a kids movie but hey, it has Patrick Dempsey and is romantic).

I'd try http://www.imdb.com/sections/dvd/
It's filled with movie info and reviews.

Good luck!!!

Thanks!

We actually saw Walk the Line not long after it came out on video.

We enjoyed that one, too!

My little guy likes any movie with zombies.

Kidding . . . he just watched Snow White and Lion King and loved both . . . BUT I think the witch in SW and the Hyenas in LK are a little bit scary.

Adults - I just got done watching "Naked Prey" it was VERY good.

Hey Jodi!! I suggest "The Ultimate Gift" (2006) for you and T and "Charlotte's Web" (2006) for Monkey! Great Movies! Especially "The Ultimate Gift" it's a tear jerker but what a good story!!
